Reflection:

How very apropos! As we made our way to Hanapepe one evening, my comrade exclaimed - 'look, a flag in the middle of an open field!' Although the war against Iraq had not yet begun, we felt quite certain that it was imminent. In gratitude, we pulled over to admire the scene. Vacationing off the mainland made us feel uneasy, even guilty. Though neither of us are ultra-patriotic, we were glad for a moment to see the American flag flying proudly within nature - our most prized context.
